StripeCam Review + Giveaway

StripeCam

Turn your photos into partly striped, striped, or plaid images with StripeCam by Tandem Systems ($0.99).

Immediately after launching the app you’ve given the options of choosing between firing up the in-app camera or loading a picture from an album. After rendering an image tap on the “Stripe Effect” button to release all of the possible striping combinations. You may choose to stripe the entire image, top, bottom, left or right portions depending on what works best for you. In the “Settings” option be sure to activate the “Extended Function” allowing the slider to show while striping an image. This helps tremendously in the flow and distribution of the striping effect. Once satisfied with your newly striped image, tap the down arrow button to save the image in your camera roll.

StripeCam is easy to use and a great tool to tinker with as it yields some really cool work when the right image and stripe effects are used. Check out what people are creating with StripeCam on Flickr and Instagram.

iPhone 5, 4S, 4 and 3GS users will save at the full size image used.
iPhone 3G, iPod touch 1st/2nd users, 600×800 is recommended.

  1. I’ve been working on a series of blended abstracts with a lot of linear elements, this app looks like it might really enhance the work. Thanks

  2. I’m experimenting more with adding layers to my photos to really make them my own. Stripes are clearly a step away from stright photography!

  3. This would be great to use with Popsicolor or Tinyplanet… Did you use this app for the selfie you created (Goyte)?

  4. Years ago i used this photo manipulation technique in Photoshop. I would love to be able to play around with this style again from the convenience of my iPhone. StripeCam would be a great addition to the apps I currently have.

  5. This app gives an almost Slit Camera effect which just happens to be top of my Wish List! It would be very cool indeed if I could edit my photos using StripeCam
